Glorious Cream

A few months ago Anslie and I were exploring an area new to us. She found some amazing ice cream and I found the most fabulous donut on the planet. Unfortunately the closest place for me to get this devine dessert was 3 hours away. I have always been pretty good to be able to taste something and then recreate it. But the cream in this donut was something I had never experienced. I begin searching the internet for pastry creams and whips. I made several different recipes but not THE one. Until one day I got the idea to mix butter into one of the recipes Ivhad already tried. I had nothing to lose. After about 3 minutes of whipping the butter into the pastry cream mix it was a separated, grainy looking mess…garbage really. But I continued to beat it in my mixer. Eventually, it turned into the creamy vanilla treat I had been searching for. It took about 7 minutes for it to attain the correct consistency. It had to undergo several different states. I thought about my Christian life journey. I must undergo the “whip” and messiness to get to the glorious cream. The cream does not happen easy or fast. But if I stick with it, what a devine treat I shall become. Christlike to be exact.
